CLASSROOM DIAGRAM!
This would be what my ideal classroom looks like. It would be for a special education classroom. The students would sit at tables to allow for room to spread their work out and not feel confined to a smaller area such as a desk. The group work table off to the side near the teacher's desk allows for the teacher to work with children on the same level as each other. The teacher is close to his or her desk and the rest of the classroom if another student needs help or the teacher wants to work at his or her desk. The teacher's desk is in the corner overlooking the classroom. Students are able to approach the desk on the side instead of the teacher blocking him or herself in diagonally. It is also close to the Smart Board in front of the classroom to instruct the class as a whole. The reading lounge in the back corner of the room is a place where students can read interdependently or sit while the teacher reads to the entire class. The computers in the back of the classroom allow students to work individually or in groups on various assignments or activities. The printer is useful to the teacher so he or she can print worksheets or homework exactly when she needs it so the students are not kept waiting. This classroom would make learning easy and fun with the ease of navigating, strategic planning, and interesting technology.
